THE HISTORY OF N.O.W. CAMP
NOW Youth Camps will mark its 13th year of summer fun in July. 17 years ago, Pastor Kevin Herrin teamed up with several youth pastors from the Texas area to host a youth camp in Wimberly, TX. Three years later, the camp jumped from San Antonio to Palacios to Alto Frio and finally landed in Alvin at Victory Camp grounds where camp is currently held.
In 1997 the camp came under the direction of Stephen Miller from Houston and Kevin Herrin from Texas City. The camp was officially named NOW Youth Camp (New Order of Worldchangers.) After several years, God moved Steve out to California to pastor a church and the leadership fell solely on Kevin's shoulders. That very next year, Chuck Colegrove moved to Houston and brought a group of teens to camp. His talents quickly brought him to the forefront where he became the new co- chairman for the camp. As the numbers have grown over the last several years, the camp has added a week and the name has been amended to NOW Youth Camps.
There have been ups and downs throughout the years, but the one thing that has remained consistent about this camp is the presence of God. Every year at NOW Camp, teens are passionately in love with Christ and we are developing leaders who love the present generation and want to see them rise and become all that God has called them to be. Every year our theme changes but the identity stays the same. We are the New Order of Worldchangers!
